Big win for GMSSS

NEW DELHI: Rakesh scored eight goals as Government Model SSS, Chandigarh overwhelmed Government Boys HSS, Jashpur 25-0 in a league match of the junior section in the Subroto Cup football tournament at the Ambedkar Stadium here on Saturday.

Gurjinder (4), Ravinder (3), Maninder (3), Sukhdeep (3), Jaspal, Ranjeet, A. Shamim and Sukhvinder were the other scorers.

In a more competitive match, Mamta Modern SSS defeated Shah Satnamji Boys School, Sirsa 4-2. Manish Negi (2), Rahul Negi and Gaurav scored for the Delhi team. Ripu Daman Singh scored twice for the Haryana team.

Maharana Pratap Sports College, Dehra Dun defeated Daly College, Indore 5-0 thanks to goals from Saurabh Rawat (2), Sunil Yadav, Nitin Choudhary and Navin Chhetri.

National Cadet Corps, North-Eastern Region drew 2-2 with BSL High School, Bokaro. Lalrinkima scored both the goals for the NCC team while Debabrata and Muran Raza found the net for the Jharkhand team.
