A difference of opinion

Special Correspondent

ONGOLE: Telugu Desam leaders -- Ashok Gajapati Raju and Karanam Balaramakrishna Murthi - have differed on the functioning of their government vis-à-vis the Congress Government.

Addanki MLA and TDP Polit Bureau member Karanam Balaramakrishna Murthi has said that the Congress Government is transferring employees as per the wishes of its workers and leaders. In marked contrast, the then TDP ministers never budged to the requests for transfer of employees and always cited rules, he complained recalling his own experience with the then Revenue Minister Ashok Gajapati Raju.

Mr. Raju, who was present at the general body meeting of the district TDP held here on Saturday, responded saying that there were no land scams during the TDP regime as they had followed rules. To this, Mr. Balaram reacted saying that there was some communication gap. He never wanted the government to do favours so that it would lead to scams but only wanted that the party workers should be given some say in transfer of employees.
