KHAMMAM: Union Minister of State for Women and Child Development Renuka Chowdhury has wanted bankers to step up rural lending giving priority to women's empowerment schemes. Inaugurating Dhanalaksmi Bank in the town on Saturday, she said private banks also had the responsibility to meet the credit needs of women engaged in economic activity. She said bankers could overcome the problems pertaining to recovery only by educating beneficiaries. She said farmers were in need of a helping hand from bankers. Bank's managing director P.S.
