Two new medical colleges for Himachal Pradesh

SHIMLA: The Himachal Pradesh Government has permitted establishment of two new medical colleges with private participation in the State.

This was stated by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh here on Saturday while inaugurating the seventh annual conference of the Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists of North India.

The two colleges are likely to come up in Kullu, Hamirpur or Mandi districts. So far there are only two Government Medical Colleges in the hill State.

Prof. A.M. Hashia, president of the Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists, said that anaesthesiology had emerged as a super speciality and many inventions had taken place in updating the science.
