TDP stages dharna for 12-hour power supply

State Government flayed for neglecting farmers

KARIMNAGAR: The Telugu Desam Party district unit leaders staged a dharna in front of the Andhra Pradesh Transco SE office in Karimnagar town on Saturday demanding 12-hour power supply to farmers in the district.The Telugu rythu leaders arrived with dried up maize crops and participated in the dharna . Flaying the State Government for neglecting the farmers, the TDP leaders asked the Government to provide protection for the standing crops. The police prevented the TDP leaders to gate crash into the office.

Later, the Transco SE D. Narsinga Rao visited the dharna spot to pacify the people who participated in the agitation. TDP legislator Sana Maruthi, district president L. Ramana, general secretary Gandra Nalini, former Minister M. Damodar Reddy and local leader G. Kamalakar participated in the dharna.
