MANGALORE: Business awards of the Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry were given away by Deputy Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa at a function here on Saturday. Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL), Kuthethoor, won the award in the special category for the highest turnover, highest taxpayer and highest number of employees under the oil and refineries sector. The following were the winners in the other categories: Cashew manufacturing and export - Mahalasa Exports, Udupi. Mine Owners and exporters -Mineral Enterprises Limited, Mangalore. Iron ore merchant exporter -Internal Logistics Company, Mangalore. Seafood category- Sterling Foods, Mangalore. Tea category-Boston Tea (India) Ltd, Mangalore. Electronic and electrical goods category-Spectrum Industries, Mangalore. Diesel, petrol and kerosene dealers' category-Vishnu Enterprises, Mangalore. Restaurants category-New Taj Mahal Café, Mangalore Hotels category-Moti Mahal, Mangalore. Coffee category-Aspinwall & Co.Ltd., Mangalore. Software sector-Infosys Technologies Ltd., Mangalore. B. Nagaraj Shetty, district in-charge and Minister of Fisheries and Muzrai; Yogish Bhat, MLA; Krishna Palemar, Suratkal MLA; and A. Srinivas Rao, president of KCCI; were present at the award distribution.
