Interim relief to victims of STF operations

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Government on Saturday ordered payment of interim relief to 12 victims of operations of Tamil Nadu Special Task Force (STF) and Joint STF of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka against the forest brigand Veerappan in the past.

The victims were those identified by the Justice Sadashiva panel and the relief was according to the extent of their sufferings. While Rs. 2 lakh was to be paid to eight persons, Rs. 1 lakh to four others.
