Information officers in panchayats

Kochi: The Panchayat Department is getting new information officers and Appellate Authority as part of implementing the provisions of the Right to Information Act, 2005.

The Public Information Officer, Assistant Public Information Officer and Appellate Authority have been appointed in the department. Deputy Director (Panchayat) K.P. Leelavathy is the district-level Appellate Authority. P.K. Sivan, Assistant Director (Panchayat) has been appointed as the district-level Public Information Officer of the department while Isaac Mohan, Junior Superintendent (Panchayat) is the new Assistant Public Information Officer. At the grama panchayat level, the grama panachayat secretaries have been appointed as public information officers.

Junior Superintendents, Head Clerks and Upper Division Clerks have been appointed assistant public information officers in grama panchayats.
