Around the City

Power shutdown

There will be no power supply on Sunday between 10 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. in some areas of the city, according to a BESCOM release.

The areas that will be affected include Marathahalli, Munekolalu, HT installations of Logica and Solarpuria, Outer Ring Road, Innovative Multiplex, and surrounding areas.

There will also be no power at Geddalahalli, Kothnur, Gubbi, Byralli and surrounding areas on Sunday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Marangoly Award

The Bangalore Christian Writers' Forum has decided to honour P.N. Benjamin, freelance journalist, for his creative contributions over the past 40 years.

He will be presented with the V.M. Marangoly Award on Sunday.

Free camp

The Gokula Ayush Arogyadhama, a unit of M.S. Ramaiah Medical College and Hospital, has organised a free consultation and counselling camp in Ayurveda, homoeopathy and Yoga from September 20 to 30.

Exchange mela

Indian Bank, which is celebrating its centenary year, has organised a "Soiled notes exchange mela" on Sunday at its branch on K.G. Road.

The mela will be held from 10.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. The facility is being provided exclusively to meet the needs of the customers and members of the general public.

Free seminar

Kaayaka Balaga and Kaayaka Computer Education has organised a free seminar on "Handwriting analysis" and "Vedic Mathematics" on Sunday, between 10 a.m. and noon.

Screening

The Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium will screen a science movie titled "Space" for the general public at 6 p.m.
