KOCHI: A national conference on financial inclusion will begin here on Tuesday. The conference is being organised by the Institute of Small Enterprises and Development (ISED). The theme of the conference is Financial Inclusion and Beyond: Issues and Opportunities for India. V.S. Das, executive director, Reserve Bank of India will inaugurate the conference, which has been described as a two-day, multi-stakeholder conference with about 80 participants. Officials representing international organisations, government departments, professionals and representatives of the corporate sector are expected to participate said a press release from ISED here. The conference will get underway at 9.30 a. m. on Tuesday. Among the expected speaker/participants at the conference are K.C. Chakraborthy, Chairman of Indian Bank, Chennai; Marc Soquet, Asia Coordinator on Social Protection, Informal Economy, ILO, New Delhi; D. Narayanan, RBI Chair Professor at the Centre for Development Studies, Thiruvananthapuram; K.N. Harilal, Member, State Planning Board; and S. Narayanan, former economic adviser to the Union Ministry of Finance, said the press release.
