`Horror-struck' girl succumbs to burns

A 12-year-old girl, who set herself ablaze reportedly after watching a horror serial of a Telugu television channel in her house at Humayunnagar on September 12, died while undergoing treatment at Osmania General Hospital on Saturday. Eighth class student Ashwini was watching the horror serial being aired by a channel at 8 p.m. on that day and later slept in a room. She woke up screaming and shouting that some evil force was dragging her. She was immediately rushed to OGH where she died, the police said.

LKG student falls in water sump, dies

An LKG student died after he accidentally fell in a water sump at his house at Sanjay Gandhi Nagar in Jeedimetla on Saturday. The police said K. Krishna, son of Nageswar, was playing when he fell.

Train knocks down

35-year-old woman

A 35-year-old woman died after a local train hit her between Secunderabad and Umdanagar stations on Saturday. Rafat Shaheen was crossing the tracks when the train hit her. She suffered grievous head injuries and died on the spot.
