Transportation crisis

The passengers of the Ernakulam-Fort Kochi boat services are a terrified lot these days.

With a good number of boats being pulled out of service following breakdown or damage, the actual number of boats, which ply between Fort Kochi and the mainland has been reduced.

The boats that now ply the Ernakulam-Fort Kochi segment are packed.

The passenger boats in the segment have always been overloaded during peak hours. The situation has worsened with the present crisis.
