Bangalore: Ahead of the start of its eight-flights-a-week, non-stop Bangalore-Dubai-Bangalore service from October 29, Emirates on Tuesday launched Emirates Holidays, its tour division, to tap the leisure market in the State. Emirates Holidays will offer 100 leisure destinations in 36 countries to tourists from the State, especially Bangalore. These flexi-pack holidays will begin with introductory offers to four destinations in Europe (London, Cyprus, Greece and Germany) and Dubai. Giving details of the package, which will be on from October 29 to November 30, Emirates sales manager (Karnataka) Pradeep Suvarna said the airline would launch an aggressive campaign to tap the leisure and the MICE (meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions) markets here. The two-night Dubai package (return fare, airport transfers, room plus taxes and breakfast) is upwards of Rs. 19,809 (excluding airport departure tax and fuel surcharge) per person. It goes up to Rs. 32,013 for stay at the Grand Hyatt Dubai. The holiday packages to Europe range from Rs. 32,441 to Rs. 55.546 per person on twin sharing basis with return economy class airfare, accommodation with room tax and service charge. The package details are available on www.emirates-holidays.com
Bonus miles
The airline's second offering is bonus miles to be earned by members of Skywards-Emirates and Sri Lankan's frequent flyer programme for travel between October 29 and November 30. The accumulated miles will allow members to redeem a complimentary economy class return ticket to Dubai. Mr. Suvarna said the airline had 2,108 seats a week (eight flights) from Bangalore to Dubai, and a market survey conducted by the airline indicated that there was demand for the route.
