A HELPING HAND: Education Minister M.O.H.F. Shahjahan helping government school children learn handling of the system in Puducherry on Tuesday.
PuducherRy: Education Minister M.O.H.F. Shahjahan has said the Directorate of Education would introduce a computer-based system of education in government schools (from standard IV to XII) in a phased manner as per the Administration's plan to promote an innovative educational system here. Inaugurating the computer-based education system covering children of a middle school at Kadirkamam on Tuesday, Mr. Shahjahan said the Administration was keen on promoting quality education. The new system would be introduced compulsorily.
No discrimination
Children in urban and rural areas would be covered without discrimination under the system. Students would be made proficient as a result of this endeavour, Mr. Shahjahan said amidst cheers from the children. The Directorate of Education had allotted around Rs.225 crore for educational development in the current fiscal.
Integrated development
The intention of the Government was to promote the integrated development of children to make them physically fit and mentally competent. He also felicitated teachers of the Government middle school on the occasion. Deputy Headmaster of the school Shanmugham welcomed those present. Senbagavalli, a municipal councillor of the Oulgaret municipality, and officials of the department of Education were among those who spoke.
