Thyagaraja EC (Madurai) wins

TIRUCHI: Senthil Kumaran scored a brace as Thyagaraja Engineering College (Madurai) blanked Sri Angalaamman College of Engineering and Technology (Tiruchi) 4-0 and won the title in the Anna University inter-zonal hockey tournament here on Tuesday. Ramesh Kumar and Saravanan were the other scorers.

College of Engineering (Guindy) defeated Arulmigu Kalasalingam College of Engineering (Srivilliputhur) 3-0 and clinched the third spot. Nagendra Kumar scored two while Sunil Rajkiran netted one.

The results (semifinals): Thyagaraja EC 3 (Kesavan, Ramesh, Senthil Kumar) bt CE (Guindy) 1 (Selva); Sri Angalaamman CET 3 (Saravanan 3) bt Arulmigu Kalasalingam CE 1 (Niranjan). — Sports Reporter
