ANANTAPUR: Congress activists accused their leaders of "neglecting them" at the executive committee meeting of the District Congress Committee (DCC) here on Tuesday. Party workers, particularly from Hindupur, Kadiri and Kalyanadurg alleged that after the party assumed power, the leaders had been encouraging their "cronies" at the cost of genuine workers. Several Youth Congress and Mahila Congress leaders including Janardhan Reddy, Nagaraju, Madhusudhan, Shakuntalamm and Chandrakantamma said that injustice was being meted out to them though the party was in power. DCC president P. Venugopal Reddy stated that constituency-wise review meeting would be held soon to look into the complaints of party workers. He told them that justice would be done to genuine workers in due course. "Our leaders are shying away even from responding to our greetings, fearing that we will ask for something," complained Youth Congress leader Nagaraju. Janardhan Reddy from Hindupur said their voicing of dissent was not a revolt but a vent to their feeling of being let down. Ministers J.C. Diwakar Reddy and N. Raghuveera Reddy, Anantapur MP A. Venkatarami Reddy, Zilla Parishad Chairperson T. Kavitha, legislators S. Sailajanath, J. Ramaiah and K. Mohan Reddy attended.
