CBSE fete: Marian Secondary School takes lead

KOTTAYAM: Marian Senior Secondary School, Kalathipady, with 150 points and Girideepom Bethany Central School, Kottayam, with 140 points are in the race for the top position when results for 67 events were declared on the second day of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Kottayam Regional Youth Festival on Tuesday.

Good Shepherd Public School, Changanassery, is in third position with 117 points at the festival being conducted at Marangattupilli.

Girideepom is leading in Category I and II while Marian and Good Shepherd have established lead in Category III and IV respectively. The following is the list of toppers in various competitions held on Tuesday:

Category I: Recitation (Malayalam): Gopika Satheesh, Chavara CMI Public School, Pala. Pencil Drawing: R Sreedevi, Girideepom Bethany Central School, Kottayam. Elocution (English): Irin Susan Mathew St Mary's English Medium School, Manarcadu.

Category II: Light Music (Girls): Hanna Mary Joseph, Mary Mount Public School, Kottayam. Painting Water Colour: Divya Ann Scaria, Belmont English Medium School, Kottayam. Pencil Drawing: Divya Ann Scaria, Belmont English Medium School, Kottayam. Light Music: Abhijith T Ajith, Lourdes Public School, Kottayam.

Category III: Mappilapattu (Girls): Lakshmi M Krishnan, Belmont English Medium School, Kottayam. Mappilappattu (Boys): Nidhesh V Anil, Marian SS School, Kalathipady. Recitation (Sanskrit): Akshay Rohith, Alfeen Public School, Kanjirappally.

General Quiz: Mervin Santhosh and Joys Mary, St Antony's Public School, Kanjirappally. Extempore (English): Anna Thomas, Marian SS School, Kalathipady. Painting (Oil): Sandra Maria Sebi, Baker Vidyapeedh, Kottayam.
