KOLLAM: President of the New Delhi-based Netaji Subash Foundation (NSF) V.P. Saini has said that the NSF will petition the President of India with a request that the findings of the Justice M.K. Mukherjee Commission on Netaji's disappearance be accepted and recognised. At a press conference here on Tuesday, he said that NSF's stand is in tune with Justice Mukherjee Commission findings that Netaji did not die in the alleged air crash since no such air crash had taken place on August 18, 1945. Mr. Saini said that the petition in this connection would be submitted to the President after the NSF completes a nation-wide campaign to highlight an alleged role of the 1945 Congress leadership in the disappearance of Netaji. He alleged that it was this role that has now compelled the Centre to reject the findings of the Justice Mukherjee Commission. "The findings have been rejected since the Government does not have the courage to face the truth," he said. Mr. Saini said that all what is known is that Netaji had crossed over to Russian territory. After that a conspiracy was hatched not to let Netaji into India. Mr. Saini alleged that Jawaharlal Nehru was a party to that conspiracy. It was high time now that the mystery behind this conspiracy was cleared, he said. Mr. Saini said that as per information gathered by the NSF, Netaji was taken into custody by the KGB and locked in a cell somewhere in Siberia.
