NALGONDA: A priest and his friend were found dead in a temple under mysterious circumstances at Tummalagudem of Ramannapet mandal on Tuesday. Ramannapet Sub Inspector M. Srinivas said that the priest Rasa Veeraiah, 65, and Nagu Mutyalu, 60, of the same village were found dead in a pool of blood at Peddamma temple. Police suspect the hand of thieves behind the crime. "The miscreants used sticks to kill the duo. They broke open the temple lock and tried in vain to open the hundi," Mr.Srinivas said. The idol, in fact, does not carry ornaments and the hundi collection is also not so great. Tension gripped the village, also called Indrapalanagaram, after word spread about the murder. Bhongir DSP V.V.Narasinga Rao and Circle Inspector Sattenna visited the spot.
