Panchayat augments water supply

CHENNAI: In response to an uprising by residents of Mylai Balaji Nagar and its neighbourhoods, Pallikaranai town panchayat has augmented water supply to these areas. Water has been sent through tankers at least three times a day, according to some of the residents.

This is only done as an interim measure. A well has been dug up the Narayanapuram lakebed to improve the water supply in the panchayat as many wells have gone dry.
