Man's death shrouded in mystery

Staff Reporter

CHENNAI : A 55-year-old man was found dead under mysterious circumstances here on Monday.

Police said the man, brought in an auto rickshaw with a two-year-old boy, was unconscious. The driver parked the vehicle in front of a private school under Saidapet police station limits around 11 a.m. and asked two boys to off load the man.

The auto driver is understood to have told school authorities that the man who hired the auto had a relative studying in the school and left. The unconscious man was rushed to the Government Royapettah Hospital where he was declared brought dead. Police inquiries revealed that he was from Kancheepuram district.
