Power shutdown

There will be no power supply in the following places on September 21 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. owing to maintenance works at the Seeranaickenpalayam sub-station: Seeranaickenpalayam and surrounding areas, P.N.Pudur, Vadavalli, Maruthamalai, Vedapatti, Veerakeralam, Selvapuram, Velandipalayam, Saibaba Colony, R.S Pruam, Bazaar Street 33 Division and Ponnaiah Rajapuram.

Conference

Karunya Institute of Technology will host a two-day International Conference on `Recent Advances in Heat Transfer' in collaboration with The Technical University of Munich, Germany, on September 21 and 22. B.N.Suresh, Director, Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, will be the chief guest. The conference is supported by Department of Space, Defence Research and Development Organisation, Department of Science and Technology, Department of Atomic Energy and Council of Scientific and Industrial Research.

Last date

The last date for submitting applications for the Government Technical Exams, 2006 - painting, tailoring, dance, Indian music, agriculture, weaving and printing - is September 20, a release from the Office of the Zonal Deputy Director of Government Exams said.

The following were elected office-bearers of the National Textile Mill Workers' Union (INTUC), Coimbatore District: G. Srinivasan (president), N.V. Nagasubramaniam, S. Durairaj, S. Kuppusamy, P.
