MYSORE: Miniature trees grown aesthetically in containers are a treat to watch. To popularise this art, the Srusthi Bonsai Study Circle will exhibit over 60 such miniature trees at the Kulapathy Bhavan, the official residence of the Vice-Chancellor of Mysore University.
Various styles
The three-day exhibition, open to public from September 22, will feature over 60 bonsai and 15 penjing in different styles. While the bonsai is a tree or a shrub grown in a container, a penjing denotes scenery in a container.
Entry free
A release said styles of bonsai such as formal upright, informal upright, slanting, cascade, twin and multi trunk would be featured during the exhibition open to public between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Entry is free. The art of bonsai is becoming popular in India in the present day with many residents in high-rise buildings patronising this art.
