Corrections and clarifications

Referring to the report "A marquee match India cannot afford to lose" ("Sport", September 16, 2006), a reader wanted to know the context in which the word "marquee" had been used. The Sports Desk clarifies that when the phrase/term "a marquee match" is used in a sports report, it means that it is a match between two top sides that will fill a marquee with expectant crowds (the original context). Now, it is used to refer to any big-time contest.
