CHENNAI: Southwest monsoon has been vigorous over Telangana and Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Rainfall occurred at most places over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala and coastal Karnataka, at many places over Lakshadweep and at a few places over Interior Karnataka. The following stations recorded very heavy to heavy rainfall in centimetres: Jagtiyal (Karimnagar dt.), Mancherial (Adilabad dt.) 11 each, Gannavaram 9.

Forecast (Valid until Friday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely at most places over Telangana, over north coastal Andhra Pradesh, coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep and at a few places over south coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and interior Karnataka. Isolated rain or thundershowers likely over Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.
