Kuala Lumpur: Friday's match between India and Australia has been shifted to the pitch used for the tournament opener, and initially scheduled to be used for the final. The decision on the track for Sunday's final will be made after Friday's match said the tournament director, Brendan McClements. The first India-West Indies encounter that saw India score 309 had been played on a track of uneven bounce caused by a ridge, and this had forced an alteration in the schedule of pitch rotation for the tournament. The initial plan had involved alternating the six league games between the two strips. Match Referee Chris Broad then decided to play back-to-back games on the ridge-less pitch to give the ground staff time to repair the ridge. The repaired track would then be used for the last two back-to-back games, he said. Wednesday's match went to plan, but McClements announcement signals a deviation from the amended plan.
