S. Ram Mahesh
Kuala Lumpur: The bowling pair of Glenn McGrath and Brett Lee will likely be reunited on Friday. Or so Lee suggested when he spoke to newsmen on Wednesday.
(Excerpts):
On Mitchell Johnson: Mitchell is a fantastic find for Australia, a great bloke to go with it, loves to listen, he's learned so much over the past 12 to 18 months and the way he bowled the other night was fantastic, so big things ahead for Mitchell. All the senior bowlers in the bowling cartel have tried to pass on a fair bit to the young guys. In particular I've told him that above all he's got the ability to bowl fast, so he should never lose sight of that. On Glenn McGrath The chance to play on Friday with Glenn will be amazing; it's been quite some time since we've played together. He's very keen to be back. He's come back from personal reasons, his body has been brilliant, and he's bowling as well as I've seen Glenn bowl. On advantages gained over India from the last match: It's always hard when you're playing a limited match caused by rain delays every five or 10 minutes, but I think we did get a bit of an advantage over them on that particular night. On the lack of discipline against the West Indies: That's a non-negotiable type of thing, that's something we really want to try and stop. Personally it was great to be out there, like Stuart Clark it was our first real match in five months, and I was hoping to get out there and get the ball going through to Brad, but the extras are something we have to look after better. On the Indian attack: They look good, they've got a quality amount of bowlers and there's a great squad over here. I'm pleased Ajit Agarkar is back in the side, I think he's got a lot to offer to Indian cricket, it's probably not in our best interests that he's back playing, but he's a fantastic bowler and the way he has revamped himself is a credit to him. On Stuart Clark's `0 for 87' shocker: I'm sure Stuart is going through a tough time right now, but one-day cricket has changed a fair bit, going back a few years you'd be happy with 1 for 40 off your 10 overs, now with the extra Power Plays if you can go under 45 to 50 on these small grounds you've had a pretty good day. On bowling coach Troy Cooley: We have had a lot of batting coaches around for quite some time, we haven't had that many fast bowlers we can ask questions of. I've done a lot of work with Dennis Lillee, who's been brilliant, and still will do work with Dennis, but having Troy on board I think is brilliant.
