Sitapur: In a jolt to the Samajwadi Party Government in Uttar Pradesh, the controversial Haj and Minorities Welfare Minister Minister Yaqoob Qureshi on Wednesday announced that he would contest the coming Assembly elections in the State as a candidate of the United Democratic Front headed by Shahi Imam of Delhi's Jama Masjid. Alleging that there was a tacit understanding between the Mulayam Singh Government and the RSS, he told reporters here on Tuesday night that the UDF will enter into alliance with any political party barring the Samajwadi Party and the BJP in the hustings. ``The State is being run by RSS minded officials,'' he alleged. He also criticised the Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar Urdu University at Rampur terming it a ``private company'' owned by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Azam Khan. PTI
