Jammu & Kashmir
Srinagar: In a major breakthrough, the Army on Wednesday recovered about 100 kg of explosives, believed to be RDX, from a forest in the border district of Kupwara in Jammu and Kashmir, a defence spokesman said. The recovery was made during a search operation at a forest near Zameendar Gali, he said. The explosives were found stuffed in two gunny bags along with 124 detonators, 14 improvised explosive device switches and an improved explosive device. This is the first time that such a huge quantity of RDX was recovered in Kupwara district, considered the gateway to the Valley for infiltrators sneaking in from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. PTI
