Cloud-seeding operations launched

Hyderabad:
The Government launched the much-awaited cloud-seeding operations on Wednesday with two aircraft.
On the first day, the two Cessna planes of Agni Aviation Company, which bagged the contract for this year also, took off from Hyderabad airport and seeded clouds for an hour each. One aircraft covered areas around Thipparthi mandal in Nalgonda district and the other Dharmavaram, Padigi and Kanaganpalli areas in Anantapur district. I.V.Murali Krishna Director, Centre for Atmospheric Sciences and Weather Modifications, JNTU, who is overseeing the operations, said the details of the rainfall received due to the experiment would be available on Thursday.
