A birth delayed

An attempt by mimicry artistes to form an association seems to be facing teething problems.

Differences of opinion among members have delayed the official inauguration of the Mimicry Association of Kerala (MAK). The grapevine has it that `groupism' has almost sealed the fate of the association even before it was born.

It was earlier announced that the association would start off with a colourful function in Kochi on September 21.

The rebel faction has now decided to move a `no-confidence motion' against the ruling panel.

Members now doubt the very need for such an association. They point out that most of the mimicry artistes are already members of either the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) or the Television Chamber of Kerala.
