Rahil Gangjee tied 21st

Seoul: Rahil Gangjee carded an impressive one-under 70 to be tied 21st while compatriot Amandeep Johl went one-over 72 for a tied 37th place after the opening round of the $700,000 49th Kolon-Hana Bank Korea Open at the Woo Jeong Hills Country Club here on Thursday.

Gangjee played percentage golf for a sedate opening round that saw him in the 21st place along with three others.

Korea's Yang Yong-eun grabbed the first round lead with a six-under 65. The in-form Yang overcame a slow start before storming through his back nine with a 31, thanks to five birdies.

Jeev joint 59th

In Ibaraki (Japan), Jeev Milkha Singh opened with a none-too-impressive one-over 72 at the Yen Acom International to be placed tied 59th at the Ishioka Golf Club. — Agencies
