Khadi products still popular

CHENNAI: Patronage for Khadi products may be less. But, the products have not been totally forgotten by the people in a land that gave to the world home spun material.

On Thursday, at the observance of the International Peace Day held on the Thakkar Bapa campus, the organisers presented to the guests of honour khadi shawls.

The programme stood out for another feature too. Except for a brief speech by Gandhian thinker Nirmala Deshpande, there were no other speeches.

Organisers went straight ahead with the events.
