WARANGAL: The historic Bhadrakali temple is being spruced up for Sharanavaratri celebrations, beginning from Saturday, here. Elaborate arrangements are being made to accommodate the rush of devotees on all the nine days. Special preparations are also on . With a view to enable thousands of devotees to have darshan of Goddess Bhadrakali, closed circuit televisions with wide screens are being installed on the temple precincts. Temple Executive Officer and Assistant Commissioner (Endowments) Ch. Bhadrinath said there would be a plethora of cultural, devotional and spiritual programmes on all the nine days. Goddess Bhadrakali would be decorated in nine different forms on each day. "The entire premises is being beautified for the celebrations. There will be cultural programmes in the evenings. Free food will be distributed to the devotees on all the nine days," he said. The Sharanavaratri celebrations will conclude on October 2 with Teppotsavam, which is being planned on a grand scale. Large numbers of people from neighbouring districts are also expected to take part. Meanwhile in Kadapa, Sri Devi Navaratri festivities will be held at Sri Pothuluri Veerabrahmendra Swamy Matham at Brahmamgari Matham from Saturday, matham manager V. Penchalaiah said on Thursday. A `sikha mudrika', `yogadandam' and wooden footwear presented to Sri Veerabrahmendra Swamy by his ardent disciple, Siddhaiah, can be seen by devotees during the festivities, he said. Sri Veerabrahma `suprabhatham', `prabhatha seva' and `akhanda stapana' would be performed daily till October 2, he said. Mr. Penchalaiah called for donations from devotees by way of money orders or demand drafts of any bank.
