AP men post two wins

HYDERABAD: Host Andhra Pradesh recorded two wins in the men's section against Maharashtra and Nagaland in the preliminary league of the 17th senior National sepak takraw championship at the Victory Playground here on Thursday.

The results: Team championship (best of three games): Men: Group A: AP bt Maharashtra (game 1: 21-7, 21-7 and game 2: 21-19, 21-5); AP bt Nagaland (1st: 21-19, 21-11; 2nd: 21-17, 21-13; Manipur bt Nagaland (1st: 21-16, 21-16; 2nd: 21-14, 21-14); Manipur bt Rajasthan (1st: 21-9, 21-7; 2nd: 21-9, 21-9).

Group B: Assam bt Orissa (1st: 21-9, 21-13; 2nd: 21-9, 21-12); Karnataka bt Goa (1st: 17-21, 21-12, 21-19; 2nd: 18-21, 21-17, 21-18); Karnataka bt Delhi (1st: 21-17, 21-12; 2nd: 21-7, 21-15).

Women: Group A: Manipur bt Delhi (1st: 21-6, 21-4; 2nd: 21-11, 21-6); Nagaland bt Orissa (1st: 15-21, 12-21; 2nd: 21-5, 21-7). Nagaland bt Orissa (1st: 15-21, 12-21; 2nd: 21-5, 21-7; Tie-breaker: 15-7). Nagaland bt Delhi (1st: 14-21, 15-21; 2nd: 21-18, 24-22; Tie-breaker: 15-13).
