Agitation threat by Telangana employees' union

Special Correspondent

`YSR had promised implementation of GO 610'

HYDERABAD: The Joint Action Committee of Telangana employees, teachers and workers has threatened to launch an agitation if the Government fails to fulfil its promises.

JAC chairman D. Sudhakar and secretary general C. Vithal told reporters here on Thursday that the Chief Minister had assured the JAC of strictly implementing GO 610. Though a fortnight had passed, nothing was done and the Cabinet sub-committee to implement the Girglani Commission report had not been convened.

Alleging that more than 91 per cent employees in Secretariat hailed from other regions, the JAC leaders said they were under tremendous pressure from the people of the region to demand their rightful share in employment. The leaders said the general body meeting of the JAC comprising 58 associations from the region would be convened in October second week to chalk out an agitation plan to pressure the Government to concede the demands.
