TIRUNELVELI: The IBM has made another history by placing an innovative youth from rural Tirunelveli, A. Mahesh, in the `IBM India Research Lab', an unimaginable recognition for a computer wizard, whose talent was brought to the notice of the world first by `The Hindu'. On seeing this first generation M.Sc. graduate's BETA2 iBRO.net on www.hinduonnet.com, a senior research executive of IBM, USA, Sampath Swaminathan, asked Mr. Mahesh if he could switch over to AIX technologies to work in the `IBM India Software Lab'. Mr. Mahesh immediately accepted the offer and started taking a three-week high-end training on IBM AIX, C and System Software with his academic guide N. Krishnan, Professor and Head, Centre for Information Technology and Engineering, Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli. "The skills and concepts updated by Mr. Mahesh in three weeks under my guidance will take a two semester academic duration in the normal course. I am sure that he will fulfil the expectations of IBM," asserts Dr. Krishnan. When IBM was requested to send Mr. Mahesh to attend the Manonmaniam Sundaranar University's 14th convocation to be addressed by President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, on September 22, it responded positivelyand was happy that Mr. Mahesh would be listening to him as an IBM employee.
