L. Ganesan set to become State BJP chief

CHENNAI:
Senior leader of Bharatiya Janata Party L. Ganesan is the sole candidate proposed for the post of State president of the party in the organisational election to be held on Friday.
The outgoing president, C.P. Radhakrishnan; general secretaries H. Raja and Pon. Radhakrishnan; former Union Minister S. Thirunavukkarasar and former presidents of the State unit S.P. Kripanidhi and K.N. Lakshmanan, all of them being State council members of the party, filed the nomination papers, proposing Mr. Ganesan's candidature.
A formal announcement of Mr. Ganesan's election will be made on Friday, according to a party spokesman.
