Home Minister promises inquiry

HYDERABAD: Home Minister K. Jana Reddy has promised a delegation of the Andhra Pradesh Union of Working Journalists that an inquiry would be ordered into the incident of alleged manhandling of a press photographer, Srinivas, by Commissioner of Legal Metrology (Weights and Measures) R. P. Meena.

The photographer was reportedly covering a dharna in front of the department when the incident occurred. The delegation was led by G. Anjaneyulu, general secretary, APUWJ.

Andhra Pradesh Press Photographers Association (APPPA) president, H. Satish also condemned the attack. He alleged that Mr. Meena abused and beat up the photographer and snatched away his camera.
