Hyderabad-born doctor's distinction in US
HYDERABAD:
Vidya Kora, a city-born doctor, has become the first American-Indian to be elected president of the Indiana State Medical Association (ISMA) in 158 years during its annual meeting recently in Indianapolis.
An internal medicine physician from Michigan City and coroner for LaPorte County, he was a student of St. Paul's High School and Gandhi Medical College here. Dr. Kora will serve a one-year term as leader of the 8,300-member organisation.
He was voted president-elect during last year's meeting after serving three terms as speaker and three terms as vice-speaker.
