Seminar on social marketing

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: An international seminar on social marketing, aimed at exploring strategies to promote values amongst the public and particularly the young generation through the media, will begin here on Friday.

The two-day seminar, being organised by the Asian chapter of international media organisation Signis, will be held from 9 a.m. at the St. Anne's Generalate, Tarnaka.

Signis Asia president Lawrence John, addressing a press conference here on Thursday said the seminar would deal with ways to market moral, human, social and cultural values through the media.

N. Casimir Raj, Director of XLRI, Jamshedpur, would give the keynote address.

Mr. John said Signis, which has a consultative status with UNICEF and the Council of Europe apart from being officially recognised by the Vatican as a Catholic organisation for communication, has members engaged in radio, TV, cinema and other communication arts. Scholars from India and abroad would present papers, he said.
