Elderly woman injured as mini-lorry goes out of control

BANGALORE: An elderly woman was seriously injured and six vehicles were damaged after a mini-lorry ran amok in Malleswaram in the early hours of Thursday.

The police said that around 6 a.m., the lorry rammed five motorcycles and a car that were parked in front of houses on Pipeline Road on 8th Cross, Malleswaram.

The lorry hit Gowramma (64) who was putting "rangoli" in front of her house. Gowramma suffered severe head and limb injuries. She has been admitted to a hospital in critical condition, the police said.

Subsequently, the Sadashivanagar traffic police seized the lorry and arrested the driver.

Three run over by trains

Three men were run over by trains in the city on Thursday. The police suspect that all of them had committed suicide. The bodies of the three were found on the tracks near Devangundi, K.R. Puram and Bangalore East railway stations.
