Thiruvananthapuram: The Livestock Development Board Veterinary Officers Association has urged the Kerala Government to reconsider the decision to shift the pig breeding centre functioning at Kainur in Thrissur. In memoranda submitted to the Chief Minister and the concerned Minister on Friday the Association pointed out that the centre, set up at a cost of Rs. 7 crore for breeding pigs in a scientific manner, had over the years became the best institution of its kind in Asia. It was also the only institution on which some 2000 pig farmers in the State depended.
