BELLARY: People in Bellary will have an opportunity to witness and enjoy the cultural performances of budding and talented youths from as many as nine districts of north Karnataka at the zonal level Kala Pratibhotsava 2006, a cultural competition being organised by the Department of Kannada and Culture here for two days from Monday.

Nearly 900 participants, all winners at the district level competitions in Bellary, Bijapur, Belgaum, Bidar, Gadag, Gulbarga, Raichur, Koppal and Bagalkot will participate in the events. Children aged less than 13 and those aged up to 18 and youths will render classical music (vocal and instrumental) folk songs, dance and drama.

The cultural events will be held at five venues — Dr. Joladarashi Doddanagowda Rangamandir, Raghava Kala Mandir, Shadi Mahal, Gandhi Bhavan and Cultural Complex. Lodging and boarding facilities have been arranged.
