`Desertion has strengthened DIC(K)'

Staff Reporter

KOLLAM: Vice-president of the Democratic Indira Congress (Karunakaran) (DIC-K) Koivila Ramachandran has said the recent developments in the party have only served to strengthen the party set-up.

At a press conference here on Friday, Mr. Ramachandran said the proposed merger between his party and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) would be the first step towards coming together of people who followed Congress culture under one umbrella. Mr. Ramachandran said the recent remarks of KPCC vice-president Mullappally Ramachandran against DIC(K) president K. Muraleedharan was highly improper.

While terming Mr. Muraleedharan as the worst KPCC president, Mr. Mullappaly Ramachandran forgot the fact that Congress leaders A.K. Antony and Oommen Chandy had termed Mr. Muraleedharan as one among the best KPCC presidents, he said.
