Panel terms for staff to resume duty

JIPMER management spokespersons says they should return to duty

  • Anti Conversion Committee demands revocation of suspension orders
  • Panel also wants withdrawal of complaints against employees

Puducherry: The strike by the employees of the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research continued for the 15th day on Friday.

A spokesperson of the JIPMER Anti Conversion Action Committee told The Hindu that the employees would return to duty only if the management withdrew the suspension orders issued against more than 30 staff (for their abstention from duty).

The management should also revoke the complaints filed against the employees, the spokesperson said.

There should also be an assurance that there would be no victimisation of any section of employees. An official spokesperson of the JIPMER management said the employees should first return to duty `unconditionally' in the larger interest of restoration of normalcy in the hospital and for uninterrupted patient care services.
