HYDERABAD: Agriculture Minister N. Raghuveera Reddy announced the institution of two gold medals for meritorious students of ANGRAU and Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University, Tirupati. Making this announcement at a function organised at ANGRAU here on Friday, he said the medals were being instituted in memory of his father, Neelakantha Sriram Reddy, a freedom fighter and progressive farmer. Mr. Reddy said his father was a gold medallist from the Coimbatore Agriculture University in 1932 in B.Sc. Agriculture.
Panel recommendations
The Government has implemented 129 of the 176 recommendations of the Jayati Ghosh Commission and the action taken report will be placed on its website, Mr. Raghuveera Reddy said. He was reviewing the recommendations at the Secretariat on Friday, with Agriculture, Horticulture, Education, Civil Supplies and Rural Development officials. The Minister listed nine recommendations that had been implemented so far. He said on 41 other recommendations a report would be prepared by the month-end.
