Chandigarh: Haryana Finance Minister Birender Singh on Friday announced the release of another instalment of five per cent dearness allowance (DA) for State Government employees with effect from July 1, 2006, on the pattern of the Central Government. He said employees would now get DA at the rate of 29 per cent of their basic pay thus, registering an increase of five per cent in the dearness allowance. This would put a financial burden of Rs 108 crore on the State exchequer during the current financial year and this liability would enhance to Rs 162 crore in every coming year. -- UNI
