MANGALORE: Vijaya Bank has crossed the lending limit stipulated by the Government, according to the executive director of the bank T. Valliappan. Speaking to presspersons on the sidelines of the annual general meeting of the Vijaya Rural Development Fund here today Mr. Valliappan said the bank has planned to exceed Rs. 1 lakh crore business by 2009 .The bank had targeted to achieve Rs. 60,000 crore by March 2007 and increase it to Rs. 75,000 core by 2008. Mr. Valliappan said the bank would also aim at increasing its branch strength from 926 to 1000 branches by March 2007.
