`Gully' cricket to go live
Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD:
The cricket fever is setting in. This is the time of the year when bricks become stumps, shopkeepers become wicketkeepers and balconies become galleries. Gully cricket in its true flavour, that is how television channel MAX calls it.
And to raise a toast to gully cricket diehards in the twin cities, MAX is bringing its Gully Cricket team to town on September 28. Accompanied by `Extraa Innings' star Mandira Bedi, the MAX team will play at Ram Raj Nagar Colony in Jeedimetla and at the HAL Township in Balanagar.
The initiative, according to MAX vice-president (marketing) T. Gangadhar is to promote the forthcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2006 that will be beamed live by MAX from October 7.
